During the consideration of SAFETEA-LU, the current transportation reauthorization legislation, Carmen Group assisted the 13 NASTO member states advance their legislative efforts and highlighted key regional needs in the areas of aging infrastructure, intermodal freight movements, and traffic congestion. The efforts also included greatly expanding their broad coalition to include another dozen states from around the country with similar interests.
