Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority

Following the attacks on 9/11, Carmen Group assisted with the reopening of Ronald Reagan National Airport after the attacks of September 11th, worked with regional leadership of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) to secure Department of Homeland Security funds for the Airports first responders, and worked with Congress to permanently modify the definition of local government to include “independent authorities” so that federal Homeland Security funds permanently flowed to the Airports Authority which resulted in an initial allotment of $1.5 million in 2005.
