Utah Department of Transportation

Over a period of more than a decade, Carmen Group helped this major state department of transportation secure hundreds of millions of dollars in increased federal funding for highway and transit projects through appropriations and authorizations — both with earmarks and with regular program funding. Of special note, Carmen Group worked with the department, the Utah Transit Authority, the City of Salt Lake and Olympic officials on the broad transportation infrastructure and security needs of hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics. This involved gaining approval of the added Federal funding necessary to incorporate special security features into a wide variety of highway, bridge and transit facilities that were critical to allowing the Games to occur just five months after September 11, 2001.
